In this role your will
- Inspire students from Preschool, Primary school and beyond, by teaching weekly classes including Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Tap.
- Follow our creative curriculum whilst utilising your skills and knowledge to adapt and develop the programs to constantly evolve.
- Be a positive and inspiring role model to our students including being well groomed, mannered, warm and welcoming. Passionately embody and embrace our studio values and mission.
- Be an essential part of our termly in person trainings and collaborate with other team members.
- Contribute and check in regularly to our communication team “Trello Board”.
- Demonstrate a high level of commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
- Prioritise safe dance practice and always follow Le Petit Ballet “Child Safely Policy’s’.
- Prepare students for performances including our Midyear and End of Year concert, as well as external and inhouse exams. Ensure timelines for music, choreography etc are followed. Keep the studio principle updated with progress as requested.
- Be punctual and follow Le Petit Ballet studio set up and pack down requirements.
- Be involved in additional creative tasks that contribute to our studio’s specialness including class videos and photos for Band, photos for graduations, writing postcards and celebrate students’ success.

- Be organised and efficient when it comes to planning your classes. Always arrive at schedules times to set up and be ready. Engage in termly trainings to collaborate, learn and know the programs, resulting in being able to confidently execute classes in a fun, exciting, engaging and safe manner.
- Inspire, support and nurture students to reach their individual potential through our programs. Understand that you are creating cherished memories and lasting inspiration for every student who walks through our doors.
- Communicate and update the studio principate about students and class progress and any other important details to ensure consistent interaction with students and families. Keep up to date with upcoming events and planning through our organisation hub “Trello”.
- Be a vision of the studio with immaculate grooming, proudly wear studio uniform, with appropriate dance shoes and hair.
- Embrace a growth mindset, always striving to improve and become the best version of yourself, both as a person and a teacher. Be open to feedback, approaching every opportunity with humility and a genuine desire to learn.
- Bring enthusiasm, creativity, and the ability to make dance truly fun. You're quick on your feet, adapting with ease to challenges and changes in the studio and class. Your talent for engaging, enchanting, and connecting with young dancers and their families is key to creating a nurturing and inspiring experience for all.
- Contribute to the studios high retention by supporting new and potential students to feel welcomed and at home from the moment they enter our doors.
- Understand you play a key role in our team and have interest in our community, demonstrating this, through attending and activity participating in our community events.
- Collaborate in creating performances and concerts, including music submissions, choreography timelines. Ability to effectively prepare students for external and in-house exams.
The essentials
Ability to teach classes with children of varying ages and skill level, independently and with an assistant teacher.
Ballet and dance qualifications at an Associate or Tertiary level
Have knowledge / training in Royal Academy of Dance (RAD registered preferred but not essential)
Own car/transport or live locally
2+ years of teaching experience
Current Working with Children Check and First Aid certificate
Reliable, professional and accountable
Passion for teaching children from Preschool and beyond with creativity and warmth
An ability to build connections with students, parents and other team members
Yearlong commitment with the prospect for future growth

The successful candidate will have an “Introductory Period” for the first term with us, to ensure we are the right fit for each other and that our values align.
Start date
